The RealCare Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) simulator is based on an actual Fetal Alcohol Syndrome infant and can be used in programmes and classrooms to prevent FAS and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) in our communities.  It represents only some the many devastating effects of consuming alcohol during pregnancy and how these can impact on the developing fetus, including:

  • Small head size
  • Narrow eye openings
  • Flat midface
  • Flat nose bridge
  • Ear abnormalities
  • Small for gestational age

The simulator comes with curriculum that outlines the life-long of damage caused by substance abuse and drinking, such as brain damage, learning difficulties, behavioural problems and mental disabilities.

Through education, FAS and FASD are 100% preventable. The FAS simulator is an important part of the RealCare Total Parenting Experience for teenage pregnancy prevention and parenting skills education.
