Edit Microsystems have been actively engaging with stakeholders around South Africa during Disability Rights Awareness Month #DRAM2015.  Here are some of the highlights of what our team have been up to…

Ministerial Round Table

IMG_0616 We were privileged to be invited to attend the recent ministerial round-table discussion which focused on inclusive education in South Africa. The discussions held and resolutions made at the round-table are encouraging. We look forward to working closely with schools and the Department of Basic Education in the near future as we all work together to ensure that every child can reach their maximum potential regardless of ability.

School VisitsPieter Labuschagne from Edit Microsystems

The team also took some time to visit several schools who are doing all-important work in ensuring that no child is left behind.  It was wonderful to catch up with old friends. Pieter Labuschagne, our Managing Director, was ecstatic to find that some of the schools still have functional Acorn computers! Thank you to the schools for hosting us – it is always a joy to visit your campuses.

SARS Disability Conference

Later in the week we had the opportunity to exhibit at the first annual SARS disability conference. We were excited to see the overwhelmingly positive reaction to so many of our devices including the Prodigi Connect 12, the BrailleNote Apex, our wide variety of AAC devices and our equipment for individuals who are deaf or hearing impaired. It is always encouraging to see how more and more organisations are focusing on inclusion in the workplace.
